Calangute Beach Goa

Calangute beach Goa is hardly about a 45 minute bus ride from Panjim. It is considered to be one of Goa’s eventful and the place where most of the activities are executed.

One decade back, in the 70's and 80's this beach was ideal for fishing and was a very famous den of the hippies.

However, in the present era, Calangute beach represents Goa's repute as a retreat for beach and coastal magnificence.

Rajasthani, Gujarati and Karnataka textiles is high in demand. The beach itself is special all by itself. It features steeply shelving sand and the best part is that it is extensive enough to house hordes of tourist during carnival and season time.  

If you go down about fifteen minutes or so south of the core beachfront region, you are bound to come across many old wooden boats anchored below the sandbank. Kerkar Art Gallery is an attractive gallery which is located walking distance from this beach. It features some of the best paintings and sculptures of a mixture of endowed, capable forthcoming artists of Goa.
